Ophthalmologist spends $1.4M in Town and Country

Dr. Ranjan P. Malhotra and his wife, Kristen, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 12882 Thornhill Ct. in Town and Country for $1.4 million from Ravi and Swadesh Malhotra on Feb. 5.
Ravi and Swadesh Malhorta paid $215,000 for the property in Sept. 1999.
Dr. Malhotra is an ophthalmologist and a co-owner at Ophthalmology Associates in Des Peres. He joined the clinic in 2000 and specializes in refractive surgery and corneal disease.
The St. Louis native received his M.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City before completing his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Home sales in Town and Country dropped 18 percent in 2007. The median sales price, however, rose $23,000 last year, from $652,000 in 2006 to $675,000 in 2007.
Median home sales prices in Town and Country have risen steadily since 2000, according to BlockShopper Metrics.
