Peter Matlon and his wife, Joyce Cacho, bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 1909 Berthoud Pass Court in Wildwood from Lynda and Rex Wood for $298,000 on April 6.
The 1,776-square-foot house, which was built in 1981, is in the Regency Estates neighborhood.
Matlon serves as deputy director for food security at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York. Prior to that, he held several roles at the United Nations Development Program and was the director of research at the West Africa Rice Development Association.
He received his M.P.A. in development economics from Princeton University and his Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Cornell University.
Cacho is the chief sustainability officer at Novus International Inc. Prior to joining Novus, she was the director of the agribusiness initiatives program of the Corporate Council on Africa. Before that, she served as a consultant for Land O'Lakes, Rabobank International, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
She received her bachelor's in economics from the University of Windsor in Canada and her master’s in agricultural marketing policy and international trade from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She earned her doctorate in agribusiness finance policy and investment decisions from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Mr. Wood is the vice president of human resources and risk management at Alter Trading Corp., a St. Louis-based scrap metal recycling and brokerage services provider. Prior to joining Alter, he worked with a textile manufacturing company as vice president of human resources.
He obtained his B.S. in management from Northern Illinois University in 1966.
There were 479 home sales in Wildwood in 2008, with a median sales price of $322,250.
