Sudarshan Jayaraman and Rajeshwari Lyer bought a three-bedroom, two-bath condo at 6318 Southwood Ave. in Clayton from Richard A. Gilbert for $260,000 on April 20.

Gilbert paid $225,000 for the property in Feb. 2000. The 1,504-square-foot Unit #3W is part of the 6318 Southwood Ave. condominium development, which was built in 1922.

Jayaraman is an assistant professor of accounting at the Washington University Olin School of Business. He has been a professor of managerial accounting at Washington University, financial accounting at the University of North Carolina and finance at Bentley College.

He received his bachelor’s degree in commerce from Mumbai University in India, an M.B.A. from Bentley College and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

There were 76 condo sales in Clayton in 2008, with a median sales price of $240,000.
