Dr. Paul G. Matz and Dr. Jacqueline Mitsouko Sato bought a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 8327 Kingsbury Blvd. in Clayton from RJ York Development for $1.5 million on April 24.
The 3,899-square-foot house, which was built in 2008, is in the neighborhood of Clayton Gardens.
Dr. Matz is a neurosurgeon with the Kirklin Clinic and the University of Alabama Hospital, where he also teaches. He taught at Stanford University for three years before joining the University of Alabama in 2001.
He earned his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon (1992) and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of California-San Francisco (1998).
Dr. Sato is a pediatric surgeon with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, which she joined in 2008. She is also affiliated with Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. She has practiced at the University of Alabama Hospital and the Children's Hospital of Alabama.
She obtained her M.D. from Columbia University (1993) and completed her residency in pediatric surgery at the University of Alabama Hospital.
There were 180 home sales in Clayton in 2008, with a median sales price of $475,000.
