Dr. Bashar Safar and his wife, Hiba, bought a four-bedroom, four-bath home at 12842 Topping Manor Dr. in Town & Country from Klearman Moore Hayley and Palmer Investment Co., LLC for $692,500 on May 7.

Klearman Moore Hayley and Palmer Investment Co., paid $660,000 for the property in April 2004. The 3,471-square-foot home was built in 1985.

Dr. Safar is a colorectal surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine. He is affiliated with St. Louis VA Medical Center’s John Cochran Division and with Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

He studied medicine at United Medical and Dental School of Guy’s and St. Thomas’s in London. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and was chief resident of general surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He finished his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida.

There were 112 sales in Town & Country in 2008, with a median price of $655,000.
