Allen H. Selis and his wife, Lisa E. Peckler, bought a four-bedroom, two-bath home at 7557 Cornell Ave. in University City from Kevin M. Andrews and his wife, Heather, for $498,000 on May 7.
The Andrewses paid $260,000 for the property in May 2003. The 2,777-square-foot house, which was built in 1924, is in the University City Central neighborhood.
Selis is the head of school at Solomon Schechter Day School of St. Louis. Previously, he was a Jewish studies coordinator at Solomon Schechter Day School of Bergen County and a professional development coordinator at Beth Tfiloh.
He received a B.A. in history and political science from Dartmouth College in 1998, and earned a degree in Jewish philosophy at the Jewish Theological Seminary in 1994.
Peckler is a program development and fundraising consultant at Envision. Before joining Envision, she was a director of development and marketing at the National Press Foundation and an associate director of institutional grants with the New Israel Fund.
She received an A.B. in English literature and Jewish studies from Smith College in 1990.
There were 713 sales in University City in 2008, with a median sales price of $152,000.
