Bernard Whittington bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 28 Behlmann Lake Court in Florissant Northeast from the Bank of New York for $278,000 on June 5.

The 3,849-square-foot house, which was built in 2005, is in the Estates of Behlmann Farms subdivision.

Mr. Whittington spent nine years in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals. The defensive end had 12 sacks in 137 career games.

He attended Indiana University.

There were 344 home sales in Florissant Northeast in 2008, with a median sales price of $155,000.
