Dr. Ralph J. Damiano, Jr., and his wife, Diane, have listed for sale a five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home at 9 Clermont Lane in Ladue for $2.25 million.

The Damianos bought the property for $1.45 million in July 2000. The 7,965-square-foot Tudor-style house was built in 1926 in the neighborhood of Ladue North. Linda Benoist of Janet McAfee is the listing agent.

Dr. Damiano is a professor of surgery and chief of cardiac surgery at the Washington University St. Louis School of Medicine. He is also a physician at the Center for Advanced Medicine Heart and Vascular Center in St. Louis, St. Louis Children's Hospital and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He joined the faculty of Washington University in 2000 after serving as professor of surgery and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Pennsylvania State University.

He earned his B.S. in biology in 1976 from Dartmouth College and his M.D. in 1980 from Duke University.

Mrs. Damiano is director of biomechanics at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. She previously worked for the Department of Neurology at Washington University. She has held academic positions in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Virginia Health Systems.

She earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the Catholic University of America, an M.S. in physical therapy from Duke University and a Ph.D. in research methods and biomechanics from the University of Virginia.

There were 164 home sales in Ladue in 2008, with a median sales price of $665,000.
