Mark W. Longbrake and his wife, Erin, bought a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath home at 1 Webster Knolls in Webster Groves from Gilbert F. Newberry, Jr., for $290,000 on June 12.
Newberry paid $238,000 for the property in Oct. 2000. The 1,977-square-foot home was built in 1951 in the Webster Groves South neighborhood. The Mark and Becci Team of Keller Williams Southwest was the agency for the sale.
Longbrake has been a lecturer in the economics department at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He previously was a visiting instructor at Kenyon College. Prior to his career in teaching, he worked as an associate in the corporate finance division of Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co. Inc.
He earned his B.A. in economics from Albion College and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Ohio State University.
There were 361 sales in Webster Groves in 2008, with a median price of $205,000.
