Gordon Phillips and his wife, Suzanne, have listed for sale a four-bedroom, four-bath home at 47 Ridgemoor Dr. in Clayton for $1.297 million.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillips acquired the property for $897,500 in Nov. 2001. The 4,295-square-foot house, which was built in 1927, is in the East of Hanley Road neighborhood. Sabrina Robb of Dielmann Sotheby's International Realty is the listing agent for the home.

Mrs. Phillips is a development committee member with Ready Readers, a St. Louis charity that provides preschool kids free children's books and promotes reading readiness for at-risk children. She is also an essayist and author who has served as an assistant director of education at Boston Center for Adult Education and as a host family program coordinator at Washington University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 188 sales in Clayton in 2008, with a median price of $525,000.
