Yujie Xiong and Hongyan Wan bought a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 1046 N. Rock Hill Road in Rock Hill from Terry L. Letson for $290,000 on Nov. 23.

Letson bought the property for $222,250 in Oct. 2003. The 1,720-square-foot house was built in 2003 in the North of Manchester Road neighborhood.

Xiong is a principal scientist and lab manager with the nano research facility at Washington University.

He earned his B.S. in chemical physics and his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China. He finished his post-doctoral work at the University of Washington and he completed research work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 103 home sales in Rock Hill during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $154,000.
