Former St. Louis Blues president Mark Sauer and his wife, Georgia, sold their home at 1112 Center Dr. in Richmond Heights for $1.6 million on Aug. 15 to Porfirio and Denise Ramos.

The Sauers paid $725,000 for the home in Aug. 1998.

Mr. Sauer, 60, was replaced as president and CEO of the NHL franchise and the Savvis Center by new Blues owners the Sports Capital Partners Group. It bought the team from Wal-Mart heir Nancy Laurie and her husband, Bill, in June.

Sauer previously did high-level executive stints as president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Pirates and as executive vice president of the St. Louis Cardinals and Busch Stadium.

Mrs. Sauer, 60, once served as fashion editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and has worked for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Their son, Peter, was a standout basketball player for a Stanford University basketball team that went to the Final Four in 1998.

Since 2005, Mrs. Ramos has been the senior vice president, treasurer and CFO for Furniture Brands International Inc. in St. Louis. The company sells products from manufacturers including Broyhill, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, Lane, Maitland-Smith and Thomasville.

She held various exectuive positions at Louisville, Ky.-based Yum! Brands Inc., which operates fast food chains KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and A&W. She also used to work for American gas giant Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO).

The Purdue University graduate received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1979.
