Hultz is a CPA and director of human resources at BKD, a CPA and advisory firm. Before joining BKD, he was an instructor of accounting at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He received a B.S. in accounting (1981) and master's degree in accountancy (1982) from Truman State University in Kirksville.
