Dr. Michael Mauney and his wife, Dr. Cheryl Mauney, bought a four-bedroom, four bath at 13 Countryside Lane in Frontenac for $1.965 million from Joseph and Jane Hasten on Jan. 31.

The 4,665 square foot home was built in 1938 and remodeled in 1992.

Jiggs Dunn of Prudential Alliance real estate was the agent for the sale. The listed price was $1.975 million.

Dr. Michael Mauney, 42, is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. He joined the cardio and vascular team at Missouri Baptist in 2000.

He received his bachelor's from Duke University (1987) and his M.D. from the school as well (1991). He served his residency, internship and fellowship at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Michael Mauney's late father, Dr. F. Maxton Mauney, was also a well-known cardiovascular surgeon with 31 years of experience in the field.

Dr. Cheryl Mauney is a musculoskeletal radiologist at St. Luke's Center For Diagnostic Imaging in Chesterfield. She received her M.D. from Penn State University and her bachelor's from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. She completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Virginia.

The Mauneys sold their home at 3 Daniel Rd. in Ladue in on Feb. 20.

Mr. Hasten is a banking veteran in the St. Louis area, and most recently served as the vice chairman of U.S. Bancorp in St. Louis. He held that position from 2001 until his retirement in 2005.

He also served as vice chairman of wholesale banking of Firststar Corp., and as the president of the St. Louis bank for Mercantile Bancorporation.

He received his Bachelor's from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn. (1974) and his M.B.A. in Finance from Northwestern University (1978).
