Zaitao Pan and his wife, Jianhua Li, bought a new three-bedroom, three bath from Jones Company Homes at 1412 Fenway Dr. in Fenton in South County for $430,000 on Feb. 27.
Mary Peck of St. Louis Realty listed the 3,031 square foot home for $450,000.
Pan, a Ph.D., is an associate professor of earth and atmospheric sciences at Saint Louis University. Dr. Pan's research deals with climate change, such as global warming, and ecosystem response to such change.
Dr. Pan, a native of China, completed his undergraduate work in his home country, earning a B.S. in Atmospheric Physics from the Nanjing University in China. He earned an M.S. in Meteorology and Oceanography from the University of the Phillipines and his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from Iowa State University.
Acquired by Dallas-based Centex Homes in 2003, The Jones Company is one of the largest homebuilders in the St. Louis area. Jones has been building homes across the St. Louis area since 1927 and has won numerous awards for quality and service.
