Frontenac Alderman Thomas W. Hizar and his wife, Anne, bought a five-bedroom, three bath at 3 Lindworth Dr. in Ladue for $515,000 from David and Wilhelmina Haffner on March 28.

Lindsay Haffner and Berkley Land of Prudential Alliance real estate were the agents for the sale. The listed price for the 3,248 square foot home was $589,900.

Mr. Hizar is the 3rd Ward Alderman for the City of Frontenac. He has also been the president of Verlok, a St. Louis-based company which produces lockable shopping carts. The company produces shopping cart mechanisms which require customers to pay a quarter to use a shopping cart, and then return the cart in order to get their money back. The company's locking devices are sold to retailers such as A&P, Kmart, Kroger, Safeway, Wal-Mart and Toys 'R' Us.

The Hizars have owned a number of homes in the St. Louis area, most recently at 41 Stoneleigh Towers St. in Olivette. The couple sold the three-bedroom, two bath home for $635,000 in July 2006. The Hizars have also lived in two separate homes in Glendale and still own a home at 9 Huntleigh Downs Road in Frontenac.
