Former professional hockey player and Chesterfield businessman Basil McRae and his wife, Jill, have listed their four-bedroom, three bath at 1329 Bentley Place Dr. in Chesterfield for an asking price of $769,900.

The McRaes paid $470,394 for the property in June 1996, the same year the 3,884 square foot home was built.

Larry Pately of RE/MAX Suburban is the listing agent for the sale. The home was originally listed for $839,900 when it appeared on the market in March.

Mr. McRae is the founder of Basil McRae and Associates, a Chesterfield-based financial services firm catering to professional athletes.

A professional athlete himself for 27 years, Mr. McRae has been a licensed securities broker since 1994 and doubles as an investment advisor representative and a licensed provider of life, disability and liability insurance.

Prior to founding the firm, Mr. McRae spent nearly three decades playing professional hockey, 18 of which were spent in the National Hockey League.

A left-winger originally from Beaverton, Ontario, he spent time with the Quebec Nordiques, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks. He spent four seasons with the Blues, playing 112 games and scoring three goals in his time in St. Louis. He played in 11 games of the Blues' postseason run in the 1992-93 season.

While playing with the North Stars during the 1987-88 season he lead the NHL with 331 penalty minutes.

He played just eight games for the Blackhawks during his last season in 1996-97.

He is also a co-owner of the Canadian Hockey League's London Knights hockey team, for which his son Phillip plays center.

Mr. McRae also made a cameo appearance as himself in the 1992 Disney hockey motion picture The Mighty Ducks.
