David K. Levine and his wife, Joyce Davidson, bought a four-bedroom, four bath in University City at 7317 Teasdale Ave. for $739,000 from Melvin and Cara Schloss on June 19.
Mr. and Mrs. Schloss paid $449,000 for the 3,500 square foot home in Sept. 2000.
Mrs. Schloss, a real estate agent with Edward L. Bakewell, Inc., listed the home for $749,000.
Since July 2006, Mr. Levine has been a Professor of Economics at Washington University. Prior to joining the faculty at Wash U, Levine taught economics at the University of California-Los Angeles and the University of Minnesota.
His research on game and economic theory has been published extensively, including five books, and has taken him to visiting professorships around the world. He chairs or sits on numerous economic committees and edits a number of related journals and newsletters.
Professor Levine earned a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Economics from UCLA in 1977 before earning a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
