Attorney buys historic Webster Groves home

Douglas P. Dowd bought a five-bedroom, 4.5 bath in Webster Groves at 258 Oakwood Ave. for $825,000 from Kent Phelan and his wife, Teresa, on July 10.

Janet McAfee's Valerie Engel listed the 3,574 square foot home for $895,000. It was on the market less than two months.

The Phelans paid $460,000 for the home in November 1995.

Built in 1924, the Georgian revival is listed on the Webster Groves Historical Society's Historic Homes Tour.

Mr. Dowd has been an attorney with the law firm of Dowd and Dowd, P.C. in St. Louis.

Mr. Phelan is the Vice President of parcel and package delivery company Access Courier in St. Louis

Mr. Dowd and his wife, Elise, also own a home in Ladue at 8 Dromara Dr.

The Phelans bought a home in University City at 151 N. Hanley in November 2006.
