Erik Harris and his wife, Heidi, sold their four-bedroom, three bath at 6320 Wydown Blvd. in Clayton for $1.02 million to Mark Watson on July 26.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris paid $600,000 for the home in Nov. 2002.

Elizabeth Robb of Dielmann Sotheby's International Realty listed the home for $1.05 million.

Mr. Harris is the principal and Henry Loew Chair double bass player in the St. Louis Symphony.

He joined the St. Louis symphony in 1993 as a principal double bass following 14 years with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. A native of New York City, he has also previously performed as a soloist and taught master classes at The Manhattan School of Music, The Julliard School and Brigham Young University.

He received both his master's and bachelor's from Julliard and was named one of the school's 100 notable alumni during its 100-year anniversary celebration in 2005.

Mrs. Harris is also a veteran of the St. Louis Symphony, as an associate concertmaster and a first violin player.

She first joined the symphony in 1992, but spent three years with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra before returning to St. Louis in 1998. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, she made her soloist debut at the age of 13 with the Utah Symphony and went on to graduate from the New England Conservatory.

She has also played with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New York String Orchestra.

Clayton home sales have risen 12 percent through July 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period has also rose $113,000 from $435,000 in 2006 to $548,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices have rose steadily in Clayton since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
