Terry Crouppen bought a four-bedroom, three bath at 2303 N. Geyer Rd. in Frontenac for $1.575 million from Sharon Harrod on July 24.
Tina Niemann of Prudential Alliance Realtors was the agent for the sale. The listed price was $1.55 million.
Crouppen is the co-founder of Brown & Crouppen, a personal injury law firm based in St. Louis. He started the firm, which now employs over 70 lawyers and has offices in St. Louis and Fairview Heights, Ill., in 1982.
He is perhaps best known for his string of "421-HELP" television and radio commercials which have been broadcast in the St. Louis area since the 1980s.
He worked in the St. Louis public defenders' office prior to starting his own firm, and he also served as corpsman for six years in the Army Reserves.
The St. Louis native received his J.D. from Washington University. He received his bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Missouri, and met his law firm's co-founder, Ron Brown, in the same Sigma Alpha Nu fraternity at the school.
Frontenac home sales have risen 38 percent through July 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has slipped $32,000 from $632,000 in 2006 to $600,000 so far this year.
Median sales prices have risen steadily in Frontenac following a sharp drop off in 2000, according to BlockShopper Metrics, which began keeping track in 1999.
