L. Dean Hempelmann and his wife, Catherine, sold their three-bedroom, three bath in Wildwood at 2825 Westridge Oaks Court for $365,000 to Mark and Catherine Stalcup on Aug. 7.
Sheryl Deskin of Re/Max Properties West listed the 3,055 square foot home for $369,900. It was built in 1999 by Mayer Custom Homes.
Dr. Hempelmann is an adjunct member of the faculty at the Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Dr. Hempelmann, who earned his Ph.D. in Historical Theology from St. Louis University, had served as the Director of pastoral education at the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in St. Louis since 1999. He returns to Alberta where he served as the President of Concordia from 1993-99.
Though Wildwood home sales are down 29 percent so far this year compared to 2006, the market has still been active, ninth most active in fact, in St. Louis County. With the drop in number of homes sold comes an uptick in median sales price compared to last year. The median home sale price in 2007 is $358,000 while it was $353,000 in 2006, an increase of one percent.
