Dr. Robert Brooker and his wife, Karen, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 343 Nelda Ave. in Kirkwood for $363,900 from Ronald and Janet Geison on Aug. 31.
The Geisons paid $179,900 for the home in Oct. 1987.
Peggy Streb of RE/MAX Associates Plus real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $389,000 when it appeared on the market in May.
Dr. Brooker is a an assistant professor of neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He sees patients at the Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis.
He received his M.D. from The St. Louis University School of Medicine (1997) and completed both his residency and fellowship at the Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. He earned his master's in Molecular Biology from Saint Louis University (1993) and his bachelor's in Mathematics from Creighton University (1990).
Kirkwood home sales have dropped 11 percent through July 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period has also dropped $10,000 from $210,000 in 2006 to $200,000 so far this year.
Median sales prices in Kirkwood rose steadily from 1999 to 2005 but dropped in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics.
