Dr. Kathleen McGann and her husband, Dr. Edward Hendershot, sold their four-bedroom, four bath at 729 Briarfarm Ln. in Kirkwood for $420,000 to Myron and Kristine Peck on Sept. 5.

McGann and Hendershot paid $289,500 for the home in July 1994.

Steve Breihan of Coldwell Banker Gundaker was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $465,000 when it appeared on the market in April.

McGann is the Vice Chair of Education for Duke Medicine, the union of the Duke University Health System School of Medicine. She also works in the Pediatrics Department at Duke Medicine, specializing in infectious diseases.

She previously worked on the faculty in the Pediatrics Division at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

She received her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (1985) and her bachelor's from the University of Colorado (1981).

Hendershot works in the Department of Medicine for Duke Health. He specializes in infectious diseases and international health.

He received his M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine (1985) and served both his residency and fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.

Kirkwood home sales have dropped 11 percent through July 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period has also dropped $10,000 from $210,000 in 2006 to $200,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices in Kirkwood rose steadily from 1999 to 2005 but dropped in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics.
