David Mattern and his wife, Megan, sold their five-bedroom, four bath at 17827 Greyabbey Ct. in Chesterfield for $872,000 to Gregory and Elaine Divis on Aug. 24.
The Divis paid $521,692 for the home in 1997, the same year it was built.
Mr. Mattern, 49, has most recently served as general counsel for Engineered Support Systems Inc., a St. Louis-based supplier of integrated products, services and support to military forces, intelligence agencies and prime contractors worldwide. The company is now owned by DRS Technologies, Inc., based in New Jersey.
His father-in-law, Michael F. Shanahan Sr., was the chairman of ESSI before it was sold to DRS in 2006.
Mr. Mattern has also worked as attorney for St. Louis law firm Wittner, Spewak, Maylack & Spooner, P.C. The Saint Louis native received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (1983) and his bachelor's from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa (1980).
Chesterfield home sales have dropped 13 percent through August 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period has also slipped $8,000 from $338,000 in 2006 to $330,000 so far this year.
Median sales prices have risen steadily in Chesterfield since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
