Kevin Short and his wife, Traci, bought a four-bedroom, five bath at 24 Countryside Lane in Frontenac for $2.2 million from Dr. Andrew Ziskind and his wife, Geraldynn, on Sept. 6.

The Ziskinds paid $2.135 million for the home in May 2005.

Ilene Jenkins of Coldwell Banker Gundaker was the agent for the sale. The listed price was $2.35 million.

Mr. Short is the President of Opaa!, a food management company based in Chesterfield. Founded in 1978, the company provides food service for 61 public school districts in Missouri. Short has led the company since 1991, when he took over the family business from former boss Kenneth Short.

Dr. Ziskind has been the President of Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis since May 2005. He previously served as Associate Vice President for Clinical Programs and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs for the University of Washington in Seattle.

Prior to joining the University of Washington, Dr. Ziskind held various positions with the University of Maryland, including VP of Clinical Services.

He earned his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (1984) and completed his internship and residence at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He also holds an M.B.A. from Loyola College of Maryland and a bachelor's in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College in Maine.

Frontenac home sales have risen 35 percent through August 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has slipped $140,000 from $745,000 in 2006 to $605,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices have risen steadily in Frontenac since 2000, according to BlockShopper Metrics.
