Dr. Eustáquio Araújo and his wife, Maria, bought a new four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 1140 Vinetta Dr. in Des Peres for $495,000 from Realco Services Inc. on Sept. 20.

Realco Services Inc. paid $140,000 for the property in Aug. 2005. The home was built in 2006 by RealMark Development, which also built the home at 1127 Vinetta Dr.

Kevin Wood and RE/MAX Premiere Realty was agent for the sale. The home was listed for $519,900 when it appeared on the market in July.

Dr. Araújo is a visiting adjunct professor in orthodontics at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University. He was the former director of the center from 2000-03 and left to eventually take the job he currently holds as the President of Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

The native Brazilian also serves as a professor of orthodontics at the Pontifical Catholic University. He has also coached two Brazilian world championship indoor soccer teams.

He received his master's in Orthodontics from the University of Pittsburgh.

Des Peres home sales have dropped one percent through August 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period has slipped $16,000 from $370,000 in 2006 to $354,000 so far this year.

Median sale prices rose steadily in Des Peres until a drop off in 2005, but recovered in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics, which began keeping track in 1999.
