Linda J. Bufkin and her husband, Dan, sold their four-bedroom, 1.5 bath in University City at 6953 Columbia Ave. for $360,000 to Lance Burditt and his wife, Jodie, on Sept. 12.

The Bufkins paid $157,500 for the property in 1997.

The home was listed for $389,000 by Joanne G. Iskiwitch of Coldwell Banker Gundaker when it appeared on the market in June.

Mrs. Bufkin, Ph.D, is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the College of Public Service of Saint Louis University. She holds a master's from Evansville University and earned her doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Mr. Burditt works in communications at Osborne & Barr and is president of the local chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Assoc.

Mrs. Burditt has worked as a physical therapist in St. Charles.

Both graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Though University City has been the third most active market so far this year, according to BlockShopper Metrics, home sales are down 14 percent through September versus the same time frame in 2006. Median sale prices are lower by 24 percent to $145,000 versus last year's median of $195,000.
