Monsanto couple pays $360K in Chesterfield

Michael Doane and his wife, Julie, bought a five-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 14070 Forestvale Dr. in Chesterfield for $360,000 from John and Brandy Stuart on Sept. 27.

The Stuarts paid $377,000 for the home in Nov. 2006.

Karen Wagner of Prudential Alliance Realtors was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $389,900 when it appeared on the market in July.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Doane have worked in various roles for the Chesterfield-based agricultural giant Monsanto Company.

Mr. Doane has worked as a spokesman, the Director of Wheat Industry Affairs, an industry affairs officer and the Director of Biotechnology Acceptance for the company.

Mrs. Doane leads the U.S. Customer Outreach program for the company.

Chesterfield home sales have fallen 19 percent through September 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has risen $6,000 from $336,000 in 2006 to $343,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices have risen steadily in Chesterfield since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
