John Gambill and his wife, Linda, sold their four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 1904 Gatemont Dr. in Chesterfield for $412,500 to Matthew and Tabatha Obeirne on Sept. 17.

June Hatfield of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $449,900 when it appeared on the market in May.

Mr. Gambill has served as senior engineer for the McDonnell Douglas Corporation (now Boeing) in Chesterfield.

He received his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville (1966), and also played men's basketball for the Commodores.

Chesterfield home sales have fallen 19 percent through September 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has rose $6,000 from $336,000 in 2006 to $343,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices have risen steadily in Chesterfield since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
