Daniel A. Peterson and his wife, Kari, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath in Glendale at 1014 Chelsea Ave. for $540,000 from Timothy C. Kaufmann and his wife, Elizabeth, on Oct. 24.
The Kaufmanns paid $175,000 for the property in 2005, the year the home was built.
Kelly Davis of Esquire Realty Group listed the 3,000 square foot home for $599,000. It was listed as high as $609,000 when it hit the market back in June.
Mr. Peterson is an attorney with the firm of Blackwell Sanders LLP in St. Louis, which he joined as an associate in 2000.
His expertise is in securities industry regulation and litigation as well as venture capital and private equity financing. He earned a bachelor's, master's and his J.D. all at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Mrs. Peterson is an attorney as well, at the Onder Law Firm. She focuses on wrongful death, product liability and subprime mortgage litigation, among other areas.
She too received her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City after earning a degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Home sales in Glendale are down five percent so far this year versus 2006. The median sale price is up three percent to $278,000 in 2007 from $267,000 last year.
Other than a brief dip in 2005, median home sale prices in Glendale have been rising steadily since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
