Former Post-Dispatch CFO asking $2.149M for Ladue 5BD

Alan Silverglat and his wife, Cynthia, have listed their five-bedroom, six bath at 39 Briarcliff St. in Ladue for $2.149 million.

The Silverglats paid $2,036,530 for the home in March 2002, a year after it was built.

Mr. Silverglat has served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior VP of Finance for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has also served in the same role for Pulitzer Inc., the parent company of the Post-Dispatch since purchased by Lee Enterprises. He was hired for that role in Sept. 2001.

Prior to joining Pulitzer, Silverglat worked in various financial roles for newspaper giant Knight Ridder, Inc. From 1995 to 2001, he served as the company's Corporate VP and Treasurer and spent 15 years prior to that as the company's Senior VP of Finance and Administration.

He has also worked with Ernst & Young and served on the board of directors with the Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corporation.

Dispatch publisher Kevin Mowbray bought a five-bedroom, five bath at 476 Steeplechase Ln. in Frontenac for $1.25 million on Aug. 15, 2006.

Ladue home sales have dropped 11 percent through September 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has rose $43,000 from $675,000 in 2006 to $718,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices in Ladue have risen steadily since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
