Psychotherapist spends $715K in Kirkwood

Constance Deschamps and her husband, Eugene Leonard, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 1329 Forest Ave. in Kirkwood for $715,000 to David and Sandra Arthur on Nov. 13.

The Arthurs paid $229,900 for the home in Aug. 1998.

Amy Prusinowski of RE/MAX Gold Select was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $749,500.

Mrs. Deschamps is a psychotherapist with a private practice who specializes in working with families of the elderly. She deals with problems involving Alzheimer's care, long-distance care giving and other issues related to the needs of the elderly.

Kirkwood home sales have dropped through September 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has remained the same at $210,000.

Median sales prices in Kirkwood rose steadily from 1999 to 2005 before dropping in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics, which began keeping track in 1999.
