Dr. Deepika Bhatla and her husband, Dr. Rakesh Rao, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 16827 Crystal Springs Dr. in Chesterfield for $419,000 from Vernon J. Wind III on Nov. 5.

Wind paid $415,000 for the property on July 11.

Dr. Bhatla is a pediatric hematology and oncology specialist at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis, specializing in bone marrow transplants.

She is also an associate professor of pediatrics at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

She received her M.D. from the University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in New Delhi, India. She completed her residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington Ky., and her fellowship at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Rao is a pediatrician who has worked in the newborn medicine department at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He has also served as an instructor in pediatrics at the Washington University School of Medicine.

He earned his M.D. from the Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India. He served both his fellowship and residency at Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

Chesterfield home sales have fallen 19 percent through September 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, has risen $6,000 from $336,000 in 2006 to $343,000 so far this year.

Median sales prices have risen steadily in Chesterfield since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
