Attorney sells for $324K in Richmond Heights

Derrick S. Kirby and his wife, Angela, sold their three-bedroom, 1.5 bath at 1507 Bellevue Ave. in Richmond Heights for $324,000 to Erica Crouch and Michael Schlueter on Nov. 1.

The Kirbys paid $239,000 for the property in Oct. 2003.

Kay Basta of Barb Summers and Associates real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $374,500 when it appeared on the market in April.

Mr. Kirby is a former attorney in the real estate litigation department for St. Louis law firm Carmody MacDonald. He was hired by the firm in 2005 and specialized in general civil litigation and medical malpractice defense.

He received his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and his bachelor's in Sociology from Southwest Missouri State University.

Home sales in Richmond Heights are down about nine percent this year versus last. Median home sale prices are also lagging, down four percent or $9,000 to $216,000 through September.

According to BlockShopper Metrics median home sales have been rising steadily since 1999 before dipping slightly in 2006.
