Penny Hehr sold her four bedroom, 2.5 bath at 123 Highgrove Ln. in Clarkson Valley for $422,500 to Mark Beste on Nov. 20.

Hehr paid $275,000 for the home in Sept. 1998.

Tony Pykiet of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $489,900 when it hit the market in May.

Hehr is the vice president of reimbursement services for Healthcare Reimbursement Specialists, a medical accounts receivable management firm based in St. Louis.

She has also worked for Travacare, and eventually as operations manager and branch manager for Caremark, a division of Baxter Healthcare.

Mr. Beste works in sales at Centurytel, a local, long distance, Internet and data services company with an office in O'Fallon. He has worked for the company since 2004.

He's also worked for the last eight years in sales with SBC, the provider of local, long distance, Internet and data services.

He earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina.

Home sales in Clarkson Valley rose 30 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period also went up $11,000 from $596,000 to $607,000.

According to BlockShopper Metrics, median home sales prices in Clarkson Valley rose steadily from 1999-2005 until a drop in 2006.
