Dr. Herbert Sunshine sold a four-bedroom, three bath in Olivette at 707 Wayfield Dr. for $359,500 to Kevin Tipton and his wife, Katherine, on Nov. 27.

Juli-Ann Felsher of Prudential Alliance listed the 2,474 square foot home for $379,000. It was listed as high as $425,000 when it hit the market in July.

Dr. Sunshine is an instructor of urologic surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine. He earned both his B.A. and M.D. from the school.

Mr. Tipton is the sales and development manager at Kingbride Homes, a developer of custom homes in St. Louis. He holds a bachelor's in marketing from Southern Methodist University. He is also a licensed real estate broker.

Home sales in Olivette rose 12 percent through Nov. 2007 versus 2006. The median home sale price also jumped last year. It was up 14 percent to $260,000 from $227,000 in 2006.

Despite dips in 2001, '02 and '06, the median home sale price in Olivette has more than doubled since BlockShopper Metrics began tracking data in 1999.
