Engineering company founder sells Webster 3BD

Janet C. Lenz sold her five-bedroom, two bath in Webster Groves at 639 Lee Ave. to Kimberly S. Margherio on Nov. 20 for $375,000.

The 2,812 square foot home was listed for $394,000. It was built in 1927.

A graduate of Washington University's civil engineering program, Lenz is the founder and president of Lenz Engineering, Inc., a civil and site development firm. Prior to starting her own firm in 1985, she was Manager of Civil Engineering for May Centers, a shopping center developer.

She's also worked with Lapin-Ellis-Dabler, Inc. and Horner and Shifrin, Inc.

Lenz is a past president of the St. Louis chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, where she is five-time recipient of the Society's Outstanding Service Award.

She earned both her bachelor's and master's in Civil Engineering from Wash U.

Home sales in Webster Groves dropped 15 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period also dropped $3,000, from $208,000 to $205,000.

According to BlockShopper Metrics, median home sales prices in Webster Groves have risen steadily since 1999.
