Former Blues captain Drake sells in Chesterfield

Former St. Blues captain Dallas Drake and his wife, Amy, sold their four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 1107 Wildhorse Meadows Dr. in Chesterfield for $450,693 to Hang Yuan and his wife, Juan Liu, on Dec. 7.

The Drakes paid $376,000 for the home in Aug. 2000, a year after it was built.

Kathleen Woodworth of Coldwell Banker Gundaker real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $550,000 when it appeared on the market in August.

Drake played six seasons with the Blues, from 2000-07, and served as the team's captain during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. The 14-year NHL veteran right winger scored 63 goals in 443 career games with the St. Louis before he was placed on waivers by the team on June 26.

The 38 year-old British Columbia native signed a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent by the Detroit Red Wings on July 9, 2007. He's played in 39 games this season as of Jan. 30, scoring two goals and adding two assists.

Drafted in the sixth round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Red Wings, Drake played two seasons in Detroit before he was traded to the now-defunct Winnipeg Jets in 1993. He spent three seasons in Winnipeg and another four with the Phoenix Coyotes before he signed as a free agent with the Blues in 2000.

Home sales in Chesterfield dropped 23 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, rose $15,000, from $335,000 to $350,000.

Median sales prices have risen steadily in Chesterfield since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
