Dr. Arturo C. Taca Jr. and his wife, Valerie, bought a five-bedroom, 4.5 bath at 228 Carlyle Lake Dr. in Creve Coeur for $765,000 from Joann Conrad on Dec. 7.

Conrad paid $589,030 for the home in Oct. 1988.

Heidi Long of Janet McAfee Inc. real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $799,000 when it appeared on the market in May.

Dr. Taca is the clinical director and a staff psychiatrist with Assisted Recovery Centers of America, a treatment center for alcohol and drug use disorders based in St. Louis. He specializes in medical and psychiatric evaluations for patients with major depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders.

The Creve Coeur native earned his M.D. from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He received his bachelor's in Psychology from St. Louis University after graduating from DeSmet Jesuit High School in Creve Coeur.

Home sales in Creve Coeur fell 27 percent in through November 2007 versus 2006. Median home sale prices, however, jumped 48 percent, the largest increase in St. Louis County.
