Imo's Pizza founders sell Des Peres 4BD

Edward and Margaret Imo sold a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath in Des Peres at 12835 Westledge Ln. for $551,479 to their daughter Carol Imo on Dec. 7.

Margaret Imo paid $550,000 for the home in Oct. 2005.

The Imos are the namesake of the successful Imo's Pizza chain of restaurants in and around the St. Louis area.

Known for its thin square cut pieces and gooey provel cheese, Imo's Pizza started in 1964 with a $1,500 investment. Today the chain boasts its own factory to service its 97 locations in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas that racked up over $70 million in sales in 2006.

Home sales in Des Peres rose two percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, dropped $18,000 from $370,000 to $352,000.

According to BlockShopper Metrics, median home sales prices in Des Peres rose steadily from 1999-2004 before dropping in 2005. It rose again in 2006.
