SLU medical professor buys for $434K in West County

Dr. Rizwan A. Qazi and his wife, Fozia, bought a five-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 11499 Daykin Dr. in Unincorporated West County from Lori and Oliver Patterson for $434,000 on Dec. 6.

The 3,314 square foot home was built in 1995.

It was listed for $449,900 when it appeared on the market in Oct. 2007. Helen Chou of Coldwell Banker Gundaker Realtors was the agent on the sale.

Dr. Qazi is an assistant professor of internal medicine at St. Louis University's School of Medicine. Originally from Pakistan, he came to St. Louis University to complete his medical residency and nephrology fellowship. He currently teaches general, transplant and interventional nephrology.

Dr. Qazi earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan.

Home sales in Unincorporated West County were down from 103 in 2006 to 42 in 2007. The median sales price, however, rose $190,000 to $221,000 for that same period.

Median home values have increased each year since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
