Wash U political science professor buys in Webster

Mr. Spriggs
James F. Spriggs II and his wife, Camella, bought a three-bedroom, 2.5 bath in Webster Groves at 150 S. Maple Ave. for $495,000 on Dec. 6 from Daniel Brown and his wife, Kelly.
The Browns spent $390,000 for the home in July 2000.
Mike Voges of Prudential Advantage listed the 1,950 square foot home for $499,900. It was built in 1920 and remodeled in 2000.
Mr. Spriggs is a professor of political science at Washington University. Prior to joining the Washington faculty, he held various professorships at the University of California-Davis.
He holds a Ph.D. and a master's in Political Science from Washington University.
Home sales in
Webster Groves dropped 15 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period also dropped $3,000, from $208,000 to $205,000.
According to
BlockShopper Metrics, median home sales prices in Webster Groves have risen steadily since 1999.
