Pediatric cardiologist sells for $389K in Unincorporated West County

Dr. Ian Balfour sold a three-bedroom, two bath at 11977 Moorland Manor Court in Unincorporated West County to Anup and Mamatha Mayekar for $389,000 on Dec. 6.

The 2,603 square foot home, which was built in 1995, is located in Moorland Estates.

The property was listed for $429,900 when it appeared on the market in Sept. 2007. Kyle Kerner with Assist 2 Sell Buyers & Sellers Advantage was the agent for the sale.

Dr. Balfour is a pediatric cardiologist with Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis. He is also a professor with the St. Louis University School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics.

He received his M.D. from the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica.

Mr. Mayekar has worked as director of business applications for Emerson Motor Company in St. Louis. Before this, he worked as manager of Oracle application support, also for Emerson.

He has a B.S. in Statistics from the University of Mumbai.

Home sales in Unincorporated West County were down 38 percent through Nov. 2007 versus 2006. The median sales price, however, jumped ten percent to $209,000 in that same time period.

Median home sale prices have risen steadily since BlockShopper Metrics began keeping track in 1999.
