Jeff and Kimberly Hurst bought a three-bedroom, two bath at 6646 Pershing Avenue in University City for $457,632 from River City Development LLC on Dec. 5.
River City Development LLC paid $270,000 for the property in June 2007.
The 2,139 square foot home was built in 1924.
Most recently, Mrs. Hurst (formerly Rameker) was based in Malaysia, where she worked as Southeast Asia regional director for the U.S. Grains Council. Before this, she worked as the organization's manager of international operations, based in Washington D.C.
Her past experience also includes a position as manager of international trade for the Oregon Department of Agriculture and working as a divisional commodities trader/merchant for Cargill, Inc.
While in Malaysia, Mr. Hurst worked as executive director of the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce in Kuala Lumpur.
Home sales in University City dropped 32 percent through Sept. of 2007, versus the same period in 2006. The median sales price also fell, going from $173,000 in 2006 to $123,000 in 2007.
After a dip in 2000, median home sales prices in University City rose steadily before falling back again in 2004. A recovery in 2005 preceded a sharp drop in 2006.
