Dr. Gerald Blasi and his wife, Linda, sold their four-bedroom, three bath at 915 Wood Ave. in Kirkwood for $404,500 to Mary Brandt on Jan. 7.

The Blasis paid $294,250 for the home in Aug. 2001.

Gail Kuntz of RE/MAX Results real estate was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $414,500.

Dr. Blasi is an associate professor of nonprofit administration at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. He also serves as the school's nonprofit administration program manager.

He has also worked as an affiliate associate professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and as an attorney for non-profit organizations and local governments.

He earned his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law.

Mrs. Blasi has worked as an attorney with St. Louis law firm Herzog Crebs LLP. She previously worked in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis and as a law clerk in the Broome County Court in Binghamton, N.Y.

She earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, N.Y.

Home sales in Kirkwood dropped 26 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, went up $6,000, from $205,000 to $211,000.

Median sales prices in Kirkwood rose steadily from 1999 to 2005 before dropping in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics, which began keeping track in 1999.
