Drs. Brandon and Angela Smithey sold a four-bedroom, 4.5 bath in Des Peres at 11743 Fawnridge Dr. for $775,000 to Gregory Howell and his wife, Lauren, on Jan. 16.

The Smitheys bought the home for $749,000 from Mayer Homes in June 2004, the same year it was built.

Janet McAfee's Linda Benoist and Elizabeth Coulter listed the 3,750 square foot home for $799,000. It was listed as high as $824,500 when it hit the market in September.

Dr. Brandon Smithey has practiced pathology with the BJC Healtcare System in St. Louis.

Dr. Angela Smithey has been a pediatrician in the St. Louis area, formerly at the Children's Clinic.

Both graduated from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.

The Smitheys recently purchased a home in Knoxville, Tenn.

Home sales in Des Peres rose two percent through Nov. 30, 2007 vs. the same period in 2006. The median price over that time period, however, dropped $18,000 from $370,000 to $352,000.

According to BlockShopper Metrics, median home sales prices in Des Peres rose steadily from 1999-2004 before dropping in 2005. It rose again in 2006.
