Attorneys get $380K for U City 3BD

Mathew Eilerts and his wife, Kimberly, sold a three-bedroom, two bath in University City at 7143 Cornell Ave. for $380,000 to Bryan Archer and his wife, Kelly, on Jan. 14.

The Eilerts bought the home for $382,500 in June 2004.

Steven Breihan of Coldwell Banker Gundaker listed the 1,834 square foot home for $399,000. It was listed as high as $415,000 when it first appeared on the market in June. It was built in 1937 and remodeled in 2003.

Mr. Eilerts is a member of the law firm Husch & Eppenberger, LLC in St. Louis. His practice is concentrated on family law. He earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law after receiving a B.A. from Southern Illinois University.

Mrs. Eilerts was recently named partner in the corporate finance and securities practice group at law firm Thompson Coburn, LLP.

She earned her J.D. from the Saint Louis University School of Law, and her B.S. in Business Management from Missouri State University.

Home sales in University City dropped 13 percent through Nov. 30, 2007 versus the same period in 2006. Median home sale prices also dropped from $155,000 in 2006 to $130,000 last year.

After a dip in 2000, median home sales prices in University City rose steadily before falling back again in 2004. According to BlockShopper Metrics, a recovery in 2005 preceded a sharp drop in 2006.
