Robert Vecchiotti and his wife, Dorothea, sold their four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 1 Woodcliffe Rd. in Ladue for $725,000 to Thomas Murray on Feb. 1.

Tina Niemann of Prudential Alliance Realtors was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $899,000 when it appeared on the market in May.

Mr. Vecchiotti is the president and founder of Organizational Consulting Services, Inc., a business consulting firm based in St. Louis. Founded in 1980, the company has consulted executives from prominent companies such as AT&T, Monsanto, H.J. Heinz Company and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Mr. Vecchiotti is also a licensed psychologist, and his business insights are offered in a monthly Wednesday morning commentary on 90.7 KWMU public radio in St. Louis.

Prior to founding Organizational Consulting Services, Mr. Vecchiotti spent 12 years in various roles with the McDonnell Douglas Corporation (now Boeing) from 1967-79. He served as a Captain and a psychologist in the U.S. Army from 1965-67 and eventually retired from the military in 1990 with the rank of Colonel.

He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from St. Louis University and his master's in Psychology from Fordham University in New York City. He also has a bachelor's in Sociology from St. Peter's College in New Jersey.

Home sales in Ladue dropped 10 percent in 2007. The median sale price also dropped $3,000 last year, from $707,000 in 2006 to $704,000 in 2007.

Median home sales prices in Ladue rose steadily from 1999-2004 before dropping in 2005 and recovering again in 2006, according to BlockShopper Metrics.
