Wash U ophthalmology prof, neurologist spend $770K in Richmond Heights

Steven Bassnett and his wife, Dr. Ksenija Kos, bought a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 24 Lake Forest Dr. in Richmond Heights for $770,000 from Luciano Rosario on Feb. 5.
Rosario paid $250,000 for the home in April 1984.
Ron Pinto of Century 21 Fortune Realty was the agent for the sale. The home was listed for $875,000 when it appeared on the market in June.
Bassnett is an associate professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences and cell biology and ahysiology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He works in the school's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and specializes in the cell biology of the lens.
He earned his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom (1987) and his bachelor's in Zoology from the University of Wales ('82).
Dr. Kos is a neurologist in the St. John's Mercy Health Care system. She specializes in neuromuscular diseases and multiple sclerosis.
She earned her M.D. from the University of Zagreb in Croatia before completing her residency and fellowship at Washington University.
Home sales in
Richmond Heights dropped five percent in 2007. The median sale price also dropped $15,000 last year, from $218,000 in 2006 to $203,000 in 2007.
Median home sales prices in Richmond Heights rose steadily from 1999-2005 before dropping in 2006, according to
BlockShopper Metrics.
